Religious Studies
Let me spare you the expense of higher education.
I took this photo at a museum exhibit. I’m speechless. What’s to say other than religion can be completely stripped of deities, organization, institutionalization and it always comes down to the same thing.
Fundamentalism is arbitrary exclusion. It’s Legalism: pick a criteria by which to exclude others. It’s fear-based, always about others; never about giving. It’s a withholding. It’s burying one’s talents in hope that by burying it that it will somehow accrue benefits. It’s still sow and reap. Everything you do and say to another human being gives or takes.
Love is the only thing that requires one to give it in order to have more to give. Believing otherwise is the root of all evil. One can never keep love to themselves, but that’s exactly what fundamentalists do.
In order to love your neighbor you will have to be willing to answer the question: how do I want to be treated?
